With most trees in development one must Wax on Wax Off......a sometimes tedious labour of applying, removing and re-applying wire annually until the main branches are in the desired position. My collection is mostly conifers and They have a real tendency to revert back to reaching upwards so I find that it takes a few years to "set" the design.......I usually have a idea, concept for the final design sometimes on paper but mostly within the minds eye........
There are many times that I view the tree from a different angle and "see" (envision perhaps) a way to mole a top, mayor branch etc ......and with 20 minutes and a few guys wire later.....
It's funny how "flat" this tree appears but we've discussed that many times.....the apex looks "gappy", it is but not to the extent that the photo portray......I did remove a few branchlets there (branches shading out others" that that the ones I need can fill in.
Rest of trees story can be found here.
Cheers Graham
