Been wanting to install a security camera for a long time. Weather has cooled and finally installed one. Now I can sit at my desk and look at my bonsai's :)
This is just a picture of a picture. Much clearer in person. Great night vision also. Has all kinds of cool settings.

Cool. I can see you now.....glued to the camera views. Shortly you'll have a room full of monitors like the security rooms in the movies. It's a good idea really....having the security. Well done. Curious also...iPhone linked?

Next. iPhone linked GPS Tagging buried in the roots. Actually....that's sort of a good idea for valued trees.

I does link to your phone but I don't have it configured. Can alert your phone if there is activity. View anytime on your phone.

Great quality. Do you get periodic snap shots or do you view live video?

What make and model is it? I need to get one for my house. Not much for threes as I have nothing of value, but for other things and peace of mind.

I have it set on live view. Its so addicting watching it. Seeing people walk by out front, animals running around out back and now watching the sprinklers watering the trampled down grass.
This is the one I bought.
ANNKE 8CH 1080P Network POE 6MP NVR 2MP Video Security Camera System. They were out of the 8 channel and refunded me $60 and sent the 4 channel. I put a 4tb hdd in it.
The real nice thing is the POE cables. Before you had to run separate power and video now with POE (power over ethernet)it uses a single cat5 cable found everywhere.
There is higher mp's but the 2mp is a 16:9 ratio like most monitors. If you have a square monitor you would want a 3 or 4mp.

Just took this picture. Its about 20% better quality in person.

Pretty good optical quality. I'm sure it will not capture a bear looking like chimpanzee.

Now all you need to have are drones armed with airsoft pellets that you can send out when you have a squirrel invasion.

Lightning hit my house and fried a bunch of things including my security dvr so I upgraded and installed new 4k cameras, monitor and dvr. Its crazy clear now. The attached pictures are a picture of the picture on the monitor. In person its even clearer. They have came a long way in tech with these cameras. Using a 6 tb hard drive. May get a month of video before it overwrites itself. 4 4k cameras uses massive storage.
This new system can also be viewed on my phone. I could set timers on a sprinkler to water the trees when gone and check the video on the phone to see if the trees are getting watered. Pretty cool.

This is nice. Can you view the area and any activity from anywhere as long as you have WiFi or Other Internet access? Anywhere...like thousands of miles away? ....From the App on your device?

If you don't mind the question, how much did the whole (new) setup cost you? Looks great.
