I was fortunate to locate a bonsai garden here on holidays. I made an appointment with the owner to visit the garden but when I arrived this afternoon he had flown to the mainland on a family matter however, his gracious wife allowed me to observe the garden and take a few pictures. The photos are from my IPad and in the middle of the day so I had a difficult time trying to isolate them ( most trees are BIG some Huge).....plan to go back next week (perhaps later in the day) to get better shots and find out much more about this spectacular garden.

Last set for now....hopefully I can update this with more photos and information next week, thanks for looking. I need to ask about the unique fertilizer stockings that I noted in some and what species some of these are (many junipers on lava rocks).....

Last ones........ the first large ficus is huge and one can see the stocking rolls which I believe hold fertilizer (will confirm). There are lava rock walls on 3 sides of the garden....on some of the more shaded ones there are many orchids.

99.9% sure that is Premna judging by the leaves and also the flowers which you can slightly see towards the right. Did the leaves have a rather stinky smell somewhat reminiscent of urine? Judging by the trunk it looks like a yamadori as well. Considering their native to Asia, I wonder if the tree was legally acquired.. Hmm.

No, Angels Trumpet does not have rounded leaves.. They are rather pointed at the tips. Not to mention you can see the flowers of another tree of the same species in the bottom right hand corner of the photo.

Here:

Doesn't look anything like Angels Trumpet flowers forming... Look up "Premna Flowers" and you will see.

There was a guy, I think his name is Sam, who used to post here from Hawaii... his stuff looked kind of similar, I don't think this is the same collection though.

I have had many Angel trumpets and I didn't see any of them in his garden........Will visit the garden this week and try to get species names. Many things have travelled to HI from Asia....over the last few 100 years.

Just don't put you face to close to the flowers o_O... I think I have a white one somewhere in the ground in my jungle of a yard. If you're really that interested I could root some cuttings for sale to you for a small price.
Haha! I stick my nose right in and inhale deep! No problems. I know they are toxic, but can't hurt me, lol.
I would be interested in a white cutting or two... Forsale or trade.
Thanks!

No wonder why most of the trees look familiar. He was a poster here but haven't seen him for quite some time.
