Any of you have one of these?
Seems to be a slow grower and I have not seen any flowers yet but it's a nice add to any tropical collection! ;)

This is also known as thumbtack right? They have the thorny leaf tips? Don't know much about them, but I do like the weeping thing they seem to do. Good to see something different!

Any idea of where you are headed design wise with this? How long have you had it? Any tips to share for others that may get one, since it doesn't seem like anyone is popping up saying they have one? :)

The tree grows like crazy in PR and DR with lots of yellow flowers, I have had it since last Oct. Couple of lower branches went dormant and just dried out so I had to remove them.
I am waiting for some new growth to see what can be done design wise but not sure much can be done!
So far, it likes the top be a bit dry before re-watering, I have been giving it partial sun but now that it's mostly cloudy like most of my other tropical it's getting 14 hours of artificial light.
I use a 20-20-20 all purpose fertilizer diluted at have strength and feed all trees with every other watering, and only once a month during winter.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a guess as to why the branches on the bottom part died back? I do know it's deciduous but you saying they dried out that probably isn't related. Here is a pretty nice example. Maybe you could try contacting them (Speak any Spanish?), they may be able to help - http://www.bonsaieneltropico.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=75074964

It happened right after I re-potted from nursery soil into bonsai mix, may be I was I didn't give it enough time, but not really sure why it lost some of the lower branches!
Not much Spanish! :p
