The name refers to the planned design, because often (in mediaevally germany ?) strong Linden build the central place of a village.
Linden is the "social tree". Under the crown of the tree law was spoken, dancing was performed and Tilia also served as a gallow-tree.
The very beginning in autumn 2010. Ugly and raw ...
Nobody understood that time why I digged this log.
And to top it all, it was a severe work to do ...

leatherback,
i found it right in the middle of nowhere. Not a special spot. At the rim of a woodland.
Since you are from northern germany as well, you would even know the name of the town
nearby the dig ...

Not ridiculous at all, at any point. I really like this tree.

I wonder if it would look better in a different pot - I see it in a shallower, wider oval with straight sides, dark green in colour. That would make the tree seem bigger, and link to your vision of a tree on the common ground in the middle of a village?

TomB.
You are so right, Sir!
The pot is too narrow and could be a bit more shallow. It is a chinese standard product.
Not that bad for the beginning, but my bonsai fellows suggested a more "noble" pot,
such as an bespoke artist-pot.
The tree has deserved that, they meant ...

I like that tree... personally, I don't find that pot all that bad, because I automatically look at the tree and not the pot...

Yeah, I understand that, but what I'm saying is that I've seen far worse pots than that one... at least it doesn't draw your eye away from the tree (my eye any way)

Amazing.

Will you ever reduce the amount of branching?
I feel a little less would be sooooo much more.

Small leaf linden?

I really gotta find mine!

Great!

Giga,
i will deliver some '17 pics after the fotosesion in end of February.
But i am afraid, that the differences or leaps forward of development are not
any longer thus significant ...

Arnold great work, you have documented a great amount of artistry and patience. This would be too daunting material for most, but you have achieved a beautiful result.
