I agree.I love the state of the blossom before it opens, as it's so dark pink.

The variety is Jugatsu. It has more than one flush of blooms. It is a lovely variety, and gets decent fall color.The flower on the cherry is really nice. Do you know the variety name?
I am drawn to flowering trees, I think they are underused for bonsai, or maybe just not as available in good forms.Excellent, Judy! I'm glad you have a feel for the flowering bonsai.
I believe the guy I got this from lives in Texas, although I can't remember exactly where.Love both. Not sure if cherry will survive in Houston.

To me, the flowers will supersede the tree forms. I think I is alike the bee! The bees don't care about the tree form., or maybe just not as available in good forms.
