My cherry and ume are both blooming, the first ume opened this morning. I love the state of the blossom before it opens, as it's so dark pink.

The variety is Jugatsu. It has more than one flush of blooms. It is a lovely variety, and gets decent fall color.
@Don Blackmond it is redolent of cloves and sweetness.

I am drawn to flowering trees, I think they are underused for bonsai, or maybe just not as available in good forms.
