My quince is mental and always starts flowering before spring officially starts.... to clarify it it protected but not heated so its flowering in about 5 celcius conditions. This tree is bonkers.
We have a bunch of quince at my work that are unprotected and have been setting buds for the last month, they have seen 10°f a couple times and don't seem to care lol the lilacs are leafing out too!

Speaking of budding out early, one of several toyo nishiki quince mame-to be. It's got a fat cone-shaped base buried under there, but I don't know how well the leaves will reduce or if it will be a convincing mame. Worst case it can be a cute little accent plant:D

It's a lot of trouble to reduce the leaves when the leaves don't really matter. Just keep the nodes as short as possible.

The 3rd one is just getting ready to open its leaves.
The little bougie is also getting ready to bloom, I'll post a pic when it finally does.

I'm so stoked on watching all your silver maple projects. I have access to so much silver maple material, but all I have going at the moment is a little seedling in a mame pot. You're definitely inspiring me to get some more projects started.
