Here's a weird-ass little tree. It's a clump of Acer campestre, Field Maple, that was growing from a big root burl on a piece of nursery stock I was repotting. I think it looks like some kind of sea creature! It's definitely interesting enough to put into a pot. . .

I know that around here it is a little early to be getting too excited about the weather, it is after all only March first. However I just pulled some of my trees out to take a look at how they are doing. Here is my Mugo Pine I call the Zombi Mugo as it looks as of two days ago. All of what you see is the new growth stimulated by last Spring's pruning documented in the video. 9.7K of you have watched it since I published it. Thank you. I hope to start some additional work on the tree as soon as I am certain the weather is going to be cooperative. It's not difficult to see that the tree has become over-grown once again. It is after all a Mops cultivar and as such do produce a lot of buds.

I am always wryly amused by male and female "fittings".
And what we do with them if viewed from a distance with an impassioned eye.
there's a very funny film called "Birds Do it Bee's Do It."
