It is possible to grow a jbp in Houston ? Zone 9. I just repotted my juniper, but I haven't wired it yet. I'm curious about it. I really like them.

I'm kind of confused about jbp care. Full sun ? Watering ? Fertilizing ?

They grow great in Houston. Full sun. Watering and fertilization depend on many things - what kind of soil they're in, how they're growing, the amount of sun exposure and the weather. I plant mine in a coarse, well draining mixture, give them as much sun as I can and water and fertilize regularly. Come to the club meetings and study groups - we'll help you take care of it.

I wish I could attend the meetings. Being a plumber myself, I'm always on work saturdays. But, If I get a jbp, I'll try attending the meetings. Do you know a nursery or online business where to buy one ?

Our club meeting is Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. Study groups are on Saturdays. We have a black pine study group that meets a few Saturdays a year. You can get black pine bonsai at Timeless Trees in Rosenberg or at Quality Feed in the Heights.
