Spacing branches?

Hey guys I was just wondering what do you guys usually use to space branches? Or do you just eliminate one of them?

This trunk crosses and I dont want them to touch as it grows out. Just looking for tips.

Usually use wire to position branches.

I am having a similar problem. Here is my solution. I used wire and attached to the side of the container. Just watch out for the wire biting into the branch..I probably should have used a little thicker gauge. Just a suggestion.
