Best time of the year now. Fishing trips, outside working in the garden on bonsai trees, just doesn't get any better than finally being able to get outside and enjoy the sun and some fresh air. Spent the past two days bouncing from rod work to yard work. Finally got the backyard about 80% done now after much weeding, cleaning, weeding, weeding....did I mention weeding? Brought the trees outside for the first time this year. Still have some work to do but it's good enough now to enjoy again. Plan to do a lot of fly tying out there between fishing trips this year!

Weather if is finally nice enough so got the pond ready and the Koi moved back out into it today. Once I get a car sold that I'm getting ready to sell then I plan to take a bit of that money and get a new pond liner and expand the pond about 2-3x its current size.

Somehow planting a new Rhododendron turned into an all day pond makeover. The joys of being OCD. Built up a soil mound on the backside of the pond and planted the rhododendron up top then planted four new hosta down the hill and around the pond. Also built the waterfall into the hill and covered the hoses and made everything more natural looking.

Once you switch from a preformed to an epdm liner your ponding world will be upside down so much easier to work with. If you guys have Menards stores in Michigan there check them out for liners, decent price. Look for underlay on eBay.

Hasn't even been a week since I planted the new Rhododendron and it's already blooming and beautiful. I only paid $15 for it last week at Walmart, I think that's the best $15 plant I have ever picked up.
