I agree that this would make 3 Stand Alone Azalea Bonsai, nice trunks and great flowers...
Unfortunately it's not my call; especially now that she knows it's still alive! You owe a photo, this is the tree thread.
Ume throwing some 18" shoots. Almost time for its annual haircut:

Rules of this thread are if you post you have to include one of your trees. You owe one. Post it up good or bad.

NY bringing the blooms!
When my kurume gets to that stage, I thin all the flower bud clusters down to one flower per bud. Looks so much cleaner when each flower has space to open fully. Here is an example from a couple years back. It's becoming a lot of work, since it's almost 32" wide now:

I love your ume! I just got my first one this last month and the previous owner didn't understand the pruning process whatsoever so he ended up pruning some branches past any leaf buds. Still plenty for me to work with.20170420_075821.jpg
This thing grows crazy fast!

Look forward to seeing how this develops now - it's very different to the material you started with! The new design does resolve the 'high rootball' issue that always caught my attention with this one. Is that the pot you got from Pinecone Ceramics?

@Tieball that's more like it :) Hefty looking trunk on that elm, and nice bark.

Picture: work-in-progress shohin Juniper chinensis.

Hey Tom, Yep this is a Pinecone ceramics pot, thanks for the heads up, i do like their work..
and here's an updated pic to show the Hawthorn is growing strongly

No blooms on this one! I am thinking about taking this cork bark elm out of this pot and putting into a trainer to try and beef it up. Any suggestions would be appreciated
@AZbonsai I suggest you start a new thread to get some responses. This thread has a requirement to post a photo of a tree with each reply, so you'll either get few responses, or they will be quickly swallowed up by other posts.

Looking good Serg. I really like that setting; bench and accent. What's the plant, iris?
Getting this one ready for our club's Spring Show too. First time out since the 2012 USNBE.

Brian, good luck at the show. Tree looks great as always! Yes, the accent is Iris cristata. The top of the bench is a piece of bluestone sidewalk from New York City from the 1800's.

I really like this Shimpaku! The one I got from you is always a favorite when people stop by. It's a lot more traditional looking and people seem to appreciate that more than my other odd trees.

I like to put a tree up outside my workplace in hopes that a design will eventually pop into my head.

How about a close up shot of the tree. From this exposure it looks like a parody of the traditional stick in a pot. I'm sure the tree is far better than this.
