Conifers. Specifically juniper tip blight, but anything he uses in general in his damp wet climate. We had a very wet winter in Southern California and many people here are dealing with fungal problems they have never had before.
If you have bad soil in the core of the rootball, you're more likely to have problems. Using a good mix keeps the soil "Dry" enough to prevent it.

Propiconazole. HonorGuard, bannerMax, need to rotate. )thiophanatomethol.
Clearys 3336dglite.

Rotate.

Does Boon believe that it matters where seeds or cuttings are started in a Bonsai garden? Higher or lower than the displayed trees? What is his belief, if any? Or just thoughts.

Thanks for this fun thread @Adair M
Great idea!
Lower.

Heck... it doesn't matter!

Some trees I worked on today:

It's too early to decandle. So I thinned, and cut back, and cleaned out more of the exposed roots.

Cleaned the bark, and began cleaning up the graft union. Replaced some wire, thinned, and put in some more curves. Going to add another graft up top. There's a nice live vein that would die if I jinned the remaining Western foliage.

Mainly brought it in to check on the grafts. There was some bad moss on the lower trunk, that had been killed with vinegar, I spent some time removing it.

Thinned and cut back. Too early to decandle.

I was wondering if I should forgo decandling my kotobuki this year? I cut back branches this winter to a weaker bud, and the new candles don't seem too vigorous.
