IMG_1272.JPG IMG_1290.JPG And some leaves have brown black spots on them is it something to be concerned about or is it just shock from being sent in the mail I'm in the process of putting a tourniquet ring above the bad graft as someone @aphid mentioned on One of my threads but I've held back from repotting and Applying tourniquet ring on leaves seem to not be following anymore but still a little concerned with spots on the leaves Also is this a good time to apply Tourniquet ring & start the Groundlayer in a deeper container

Elyah, don't do anything until you know your tree is rocking again. It looks like it may be stress from being in the box. Give it a little bit of time and keep it away from direct sun for now.

I have a fairly mature sharp's that I have to religiously thin out every year. If I don't, it gets extremely dense and leaves from the interior start to fall off due to lack of light and air circulation. I doubt that this is your issue since it looks like you have a young tree, which is probably not dense enough to worry about it yet. But this is something to keep in mind with sharp's. They get very congested!

FYI yes this is a good time to layer since sap is flowing rapidly. However, as mentioned I would not do much yet until the tree is back to normal.

The black spots could be fungal. Just keep a close eye on it and make sure it is not getting worse. As far as dealing with how congested they get, the solution is simply partial defoliation. One leaf out of each pair is removed. On a larger tree it can take at least a couple of hours. It is tedious and time consuming but cannot be avoided. Otherwise you'd end up with foliage just at the tips of branches. As much as I enjoy my sharp's, I would not want to have any more. They are a lot of work!
