Dave Crust and I make up 2/3 of the Norbilly ( Northern Hillbilly) Bonsai Society. I just got the tour of his winter storage facility/greenhouse. We had lunch with his hospitable wife and third member of our trifecta. Old enough and wise enough to not subject himself to the cruelty of this place but privately working on Tamarack specimens for 25 years.

It's always nice to find someone more quirky than yourself!! Helps push the boundary and yet I find there probably won't be any vacuums, teletubbies or handguns involved in future projects, but you never know!!

Great guy and with some great trees.
He had some difficulties a while back.
I keep hoping he shows up again.
He also is a big fan of giant movie monsters.
He might even be a bigger fan of Godzilla than I am.
He's the first nut member I ever met... probably 5 years before there was a Bnut. He and I started in the hobby right at the same time, more or less, and would occasionally run into each other at NEBG. Not sure what happened to him, though.

They made another in Japan, called Godzilla Resurgence. Haven't seen it yet but I will.
And then there is the new Kong movie.
Skull Island.
Your right I forgot about that one. Will have to try & find it. I believe King is the same director as did the last US Godzilla movie. Can kind of tell it in the filming style on previews. Looks good & John C Reilly's character looks good in it.

I'd like to add @Stickroot to my list of B-Nuts I've met in person. Thanks for giving me peace of mind during my vacation!
Great to meet you Grant!
I'm always happy to help, I have had quite a few vacations become total stress fests because worrying about my trees, and in my case having so many larger trees it is difficult to load them up and take them somewhere for proper care. So even trusting irrigation is stress.
Have a great worry free vacation!
