What's up with all of the little oak seedlings?

Ah. Those are my daughter'. She just graduated from the University of Georgia, and there was a tree on campus that she just loved. So, she found the acorns under it, and germinated them. And a ginkgo from there, too. So, being a college graduate, she was wise enough to notice I watered my trees every day. So, she put her future landscape tree(s) next to my bonsai, knowing they'd get watered!

Now, I owe a picture:

Maybe a slightly different front?

This is a Lodgepole trunk (I think) with grafted JWP foliage. There's two grafts; one is the crown, and the other is the drop branch on the right.

They may be tree species but are they really trees
Not sure what you mean. This is at least the second season for every one of them, so all have now generated some sap wood if not several year's worth - IWO, they are quacking like ducks ...

On the other hand, I am sure that you owe a pic of at least one of your trees

I am unaware of any common definition of 'tree' versus 'shrub'. People make bonsai of vines like ivy, Virginia creeper, grape, wisteria, ... Are they bonsai = tree in pot or just vines in a pot = not bonsai? I've just looked at this thread in the context of little woody plant in a pot is a 'tree'. You're a forester - I get it. ;)

Emergent acer palmatum 'Orange Dream' about two months ago. There is a tree under there. Might even be worth a look with a few more years.

I've had a bit of a layoff from about November. Downsized and relocated to much smaller house and grounds, and had some medical "issues" that have been slowed/stopped for the time being. And I retired last month. Hopefully I can now devote the attention that my collection deserves. Anyway, here are a few shots of some of my trees today.
