@kevinlovett86 Love the angle of shot, great photography. made a regular pic awesome

@sorce Down here they stop growing completely. Not a new bud in sight but they are fine. They just look like they are on pause LOL

My elms react the fastest I've noticed. As soon as the temps cool off even for 2 days (under 95 for me) the next morning I'll see new buds.

I can't wait for Fall here though b/c we get another burst of growth like crazy!!!!!!!!!!! the heat slows down and the trees do this:

I'm in two minds about this, on one hand it's a good time to order plants and transplant them and growth is good but we also run the chance of massive storms and this year with the med sea so warm predictions are pretty severe, so whilst I love a storm there is just not the infrastructure to keep us safe during what they call a gota fria here.
This year has the potential to be the worst since I have been here, not used to it so I worry about safety first, then get the camera out and enjoy it.

I just want perpetual summer I think.

Me either!

I'm crazy excited overall...

On the way to a different depot yesterday...
My heart was racing!

I have a serious problem!

Sorce

I don't see any problem. Others (the lady as well) thinks I'm psycho but you NEVER KNOW where your next great tree will come from......always looking.....

The other day took the little one to Toys R Us and before leaving I made them wait in the car as I scoured the parking lot for material since half the lot was abandoned LOL

Perpetual Summer.............ahhhh Starfox wouldn't that be PERFECT ;) AND EXCELLENT ;)

I know what you mean though as happy as I am right now, we are in Hurricane Season here

The rouge wind gusts have already started. All trees are tied down now and the benches as well. I know I'm gonna be doing the bonsai two step soon

But I'm lucky, I have a concrete shed in the back that is 25x15 feet. I've cleaned it out already and have benches set up in there for quick transfer. It can get bad here as well

Okay, teasing aside.

This looks like one of the years where we get the 2 weeks of humidity early.
Supposed to be August or early September .
and then the cooler weather begins.

So if you hear me tell you it is very cool in September. know that we started
an early autumn.

Which means you can hang clothes in full sun and be chilly.
Good Day
Anthony

In Magdalena they don't see any temperature change with seasons...crazy thought. When I asked about it...they laughed at the idea. Then said nooooo!

Perpetual summer? Warm to hot all year-round? The folks down in the far south can have it. I am in Pennsylvsnia and am really ready for pleasant cool days and beautiful fall colors.

LOL I was kind of being sarcastic with that one...hard to convey online hahaha

Personally I love winter and dream of moving to Alaska (though with my family that'll never happen)

I spent most of my life in New York. I LOVE snow. Every season I would spend about 90 days on the mountain snowboarding. Was ski patrol (but on a snowboard :p ) at Belleayre Mtn. in Upstate NY for a bunch of years also. I'm a winter guy at heart myself! Though fall is the best season of the 4 I must agree.

I am now trapped in FL. Though amazing for Bonsai, I feel like a prisoner. I haven't worn pants in 3 years. Isn't that nuts? I miss my cargo pants and jackets hahah

@StoneCloud ,

odd, I tend to be an outdoors person, coming in to sleep. I never liked winter, as I found the extra clothing
a pain in the butt, and the cold too restricting.
BUT then it was only when I visited Lafayette, Louisiana, that I understood -------- humidity.

Strangely enough it took Al [ Smoke ] to make me understand my islands climate.
All I knew was, we get happier towards Christmas and enjoyed the cool of November to sometimes
late March. Even down to May leaves you in giggles.

I also remember how it was to step off of the plane in Miami.
Dry, cool airplane air and humid Miami. Wow !

Our humid two weeks is normally in later August or early September, then the weather shifts
to cooler.

By the way when I was younger, my outdoors was hikes into our version of mountains, and down
long donkey paths to waterfalls, walking across beaches knee deep in sand.
Now my outdoors are more the garage, where I can work, making things etc.

Next ambition ---------- to terra form a Tropical planet.
Good Day
Anthony

Yeah you guys get more extreme weather there for sure, plus you get rain. We get little rain and when it does everyone loses their shit, people can't drive and everything comes to a stand still. Amateurs. That said there is a heatwave across Europe at the moment, same deal. People can't deal with it, they even have named it 'Lucifer'. lol.
Clearly they have never spent many summers in Australia.

Winter seriously depresses me, it's just cold and windy. I mean if I have to put up with being cold then I want a proper winter with snow at least. I think it's the lack of Vitamin D.

At one point we weighed up moving to Estonia, gets pretty chilly up there. Glad we didn't yet every winter it's like where can we move to that is warmer.

Glad to see that winged elm looking good man. My big one has put on some serious girth this year. I sat it on the ground for a while and it's roots escaped the basket and into the ground pretty fast. I'm just going to leave it now. And then cut it loose sometime later. It might be ready for a first chop next year if it keeps going like that.

@sorce things had stalled at my place as well. Sorry to hear you lost trees...but the Amur which made it has a quirky cool trunk. Glad it survived.

@Cadillactaste ,

hee hee, nothing new or frightening there Darlene, normal rain.
Had to face the same in Mayaro many a time.

Word of caution, don't advertise when you are heading out of home, even if
you have a sitter and gated community. Plus, don't show faces.
This is the Internet and not a private list.
You will end up on Google.

Be careful please.

You don't want to lose your Mossed Froggy ---- now - do you ?

I know I'm backwards the cold makes me energetic and happy. the heat and humidity make me want to sleep. I actually get dizzy outside sometimes down here. and yes the humidity here can be suffocating.

Not sure it's backwards as much as conditioning. Kind of like plants, I have a Bougie that I finally got out of it's horrid soil and it's growth went purple. That is a lack of P I believe which would make sense as P was about the only thing in the cement soil. It's coming good now, maybe you just need a bit of time. :p

I get sleepy in the cold, although these days I get sleepy quite easy.

I'd like to live n the tropics at some point I think although where I would love to live is pretty similar to here.
