I'd trade everything I own for just one weekend at the coast right now with my wife.....

Your best friend is gone and it is sad, more then most understand.

Going forward at this point is hard, so hard most do not understand - except her.

She would never want you to forget but at the same time she would NEVER want you to not go forward.

Thought for the day - IF you went first, it would have taken months, perhaps years. Why? You could not leave this world not knowing her fate. It would have hurt her for a long time. She went in peace - leave it be my friend, she loved you until the last moment for that.

Now, share more of your wonderful life together and carry on - please?

There is no way to grasp what you are feeling, each grief is their own...but the material things don't mean a hill of beans at a time like this.

I recall almost losing our son when he was 4...when we finally brought him home...I recall walking into the house...looking around, and it meant nothing to me...I would have given it all up in a heartbeat for the same outcome of his being okay.

I have spoken to a friend who lost a son, again no way can I relate...but I did recall to her it puts things into perspective...she too would have given up all material belongings for more time with him.

What your feeling...is totally normal. You watched your love fight a battle with cancer. Emotional taxing both mentally and physically.

Norene knew she had an amazing husband/soulmate...I hope the knowledge of what you was to her... offers you solace.

Please feel free to share your Norene with us. In whatever way you feel comfortable with. Just from brief stories...I know she was an ornery...outstanding woman.

Continual prayers my friend.

Wise words.
This is one of the most profound things I have read in a long time.

I cant relate to anything you are going through Al, because I have not been through it......yet
Because of that I am at a perpetual loss for words. Anything I can say seems so shallow.
I hope I can be as strong when that time comes.

I am deeply saddened for you and this is probably the hardest thing you have ever done or will ever have to do, but you have to continue on.

One breath at a time
One step at a time
One day at a time
You are a strong individual, you can do this, we know you can.
She wouldnt want you to give up

Al, I have not been on Bnut for a good while, and just discovered this thread. So sorry to learn of your wife's struggle and passing. Hold the memories close and use them to help you climb from the lowest spot you've ever experienced. After over 40 years of marriage I recently discovered I had reason to reflect on my life. Your grace is something we can all take a lesson from. I wish you the best, and as Judy said, you've got friends here that care.

I just hope that you do not get sucked in by big boobs, a pretty smile, and a gold digging heart that will cut your heart out and throw it in a heap.
