I've had this whole month free. Finished work a few weeks ago and school doesn't start until late this month. I decided to invest my time backpacking and learning photography.

Here are some shots around Islip Ridge. Some segments pass through the Pacific Crest Trail. I will be backpacking nearly every week and hope to get some cool pictures. The last shot is a long exposure of a thunder storm in the far distance. Without the lightning the clouds would be very flat and hardly visible.

Dont know much about taking pics but ive been tought about photo's where you see the sky in background try to put not more than 1/3 of the frame filled with the sky
Does that make sense? Lol

Looking forward to more pics

There's something called the rule of thirds where you want your subjects of interest in the 1/3 or 2/3 line of the frame.

Weekend backpackings mostly. So hike in, camp out, then hike back down the mountain.
