Yes I agree but it needs some more ramification and so on, you can see there is an approach graft going on at the top now too, it's a great tree bound to get better

Awesome tree! Makes me want to mortgage my house to buy better material!
I am a banker and I can tell you I have never had someone come in to take out a mortgage so they could buy better Bonsai. That would blow an underwriter's MIND! (And it would be a sure way for a married man to become single again FAST!)

Looking fat and warty! Since this is a progression thread, I’m curious about your plans with this one.
Are you wiring it out this winter to add some movement in the new shoots?
How is the ramification developing? They can be coarse growers.
Thanks

Brian,

wiring was done extensively last winter already. The wire starts to bite in. This would be very bad on a Japanese maple, not so much on an Arakawa.Wire will now stay on as long as possible. This will be end of march 2016. The bridge has to stay, possible for one or two years. It must be definitely clear that the connection was done. This one sees if the shoot off the new connection becomes clearly thicker than from the original origin. It looks like it is slightly thicker by now. Arakawas are very difficult. Lots of Arakawa wrecks are on the market in Japan and Europe. We'll see. The pictures are of November 2016. New ones will follow in a few weeks.
