Monterey(?) Cypress playtoy

I picked up this "live Christmas tree" the other day to mess around with. If it seems to do okay in my solarium I'll keep it, if not and it lives till spring, I'll sell it at the club show.

What was I thinking? I originally thought maybe a raft or clump. My initial poke through didn't find a main trunk. Clump after all.

Went in to clear the base today. A lot of dead dry roots at the top. Started cleaning and moving stuff around and found... a trunk! Cleared some weak thin stuff from the bottom and added some soil to the pot to replace what fell off. It looks like I might be able to get a twin trunk out of it. I'll continue thinning and follwing the main trunk next.

Turned out pretty good, I think. Decided the twin trunk was a no go.
