This ones super nice , looks to need some love tho, let it growI received mine in the mail a little over a week ago from BIC. This guys has twist and bends like no other that I’ve came across. It just need some ramification and I think it would be show ready.
Speaking of growing domestically, Telperion farms in Salem Oregon have incredible juniper stock for sale. Not sure it is necessary to look to japan for material. Just my .02Cents.Suthin and Gremel have grown and sold trees like this domestically. Brussels (Matt Smith) is a good place to check, he recently had a 20% off sale.
BIC has their own facility and does not use Brussels at this time.
The 'knot' in the middle will look better after heavy carving and an angle change to alter the straight base.
Foliage is light green. And yes I need to let it grow out. Didn’t have a chance to take any pics yet but here are some that was on his website. This ones super nice , looks to need some love tho, let it grow
Not sure if it’s the lighting or what something doesn’t look right with the foliage can you take a close up ?
They are good people to buy from. He was asking 1600, and with a little negotiation, I was able to get it down to 1440, with a 10% off. The thing that got me was that it was illegal to ship junipers to CA, and he informed me that. He did not guarantee me anything once the tree leaves his hands. So for 3 days, I didn’t sleep well. Lol.Hey rn if you don’t mind me asking what did you pay for that one. It is real nice I like it a lot. I’m such a fan of twisty ones.
