I've got a nice medium sized twin trunk that I'm saving. Going to repot it this spring then work on it next year. I was going to leave it in its pot and work on it this spring but the soil is just one clump of clay so I decided to do it the other way around

Pics!!!

@sorce Thanks! I didn't know. I'm gonna try sending this pair in and get a new one in the mean time.

What happens with mine after a while is the handles lose their stiffness and when pressing to cut they bend. Then right toward the end of the cut just don't have the pressure to get through.

Happens with mine after about a season.

I gotta look into that sharpener, hopefully I can find one or get it for free too LOL :p

I have a small sharpening stone, but sharpening scissors never seemed attractive enough to try it haha

I have a favorite pair of small scissors with a little upward curve. bought in n calif. one year
They were cutting great until I thought I would give them just a quick touch up on the edge.
They have never cut the same and still sorry I did it!
There is a technique and I obviously didn't know it...
They arent fiskars but havent found any in my area like them.

I think an RIP may be in order.

Ready...Insert...Pot!

Repotting It Post-Solstice.

Really Interesting Prevailing!

With Better initial timing....
Winter Purchase Chop...
Nothing till Fall...wiring or repot.
Then slight structural pruning year 2.
Wiring/Repot in Fall.
Year 3 can see pruning to "proper nexts" and a "proper start".

After that...I don't see them failing as Bonsai at all.

Some die.

Some just won't

This one won't!
Potted at the last full moon.

A temporary tester...ahem...practice material....

I wasn't too worried about perfect placement....just getting it secured in there...so it can grow "small pot roots" I can better adjust later.

I kinda like the lean....

Just stoked its alive more or less...
It's almost a miracle!
But it's the fish!

Scissors are easy to sharpen. The trick is to only sharpen the angled side (outside). Never, ever touch the flat side (inside) that slides against the opposite blade. If you have sharpened the flat side, you will have to bring down the outside until it is flat again from edge to edge.
