Big, Old Trees...Snapped like toothpicks!!!

Nature can deliver some bizarre events, no doubt. In the '90s, we had a tornado cut across one end of the property, which plucked massive pecan trees out of the ground like weeds. During that same event, probably 1000' east of the tornado path, a microburst snapped the top 10-20' out of a dozen <50' tall pine trees. Literally, directly under one of those trees, sat a light weight domed smoker, a foldable Aussie Grill, and several folding lawn chairs, none of which were disturbed.

That's a heck of an anomaly weather event. The article said some of the trees were snapped off at the base. It provides an answer to the age-old question,
"If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is there to feel it, does it hit the ground with enough impact to be felt?" :)
