Of course this first priority now...

Looks like a nice start. Cannot give any solid advice though - add your location to your profile so it shows in your avatar like mine. Basic location and growing Zone!

Welcome to B-Nuts :)

And here we are with new elm !!!

Looking good! You just need to learn the rhythm of the elm...

Let it throw new shoots. Let them harden and let the tree pause. And then before it buds a second time, trim your shoots back to one or two leaves. The terminal leaf that you prune back to will define the direction of the next bud - so if you want the branch to go left, trim to a left leaf, etc.

This is, of course, if your goal is to develop thick ramification. If you just want the tree to bulk up, let it grow madly!

I hope you're not trying to keep these indoors. They won't last long inside, they need sun and air and a cold season to go dormant.

Thanks for the advice, i will let them grow and then the winter i will prune just those that do not need and to define the shape i want.
And afer all the next spring i will repot them. Until then only watering and feeding.

The shape i choose it was clear, broom style and informal upright !!!

I am wondering, for this tree (informal) does anybody have any idea what else style I can do with drastic pruning if needed ?
