You know I couldn’t remember who it was that sold it to me, so I had to look through my PM conversations and the only one I could find that mentioned nishiki gawa was the one with you. So I think it was you? Maybe I’m mistaken haha idk anymore. I believe we switched from PM to email/text. But I’ve made trades with quite a few members here so it’s hard to keep track.

What’s the bark like on that maple you picked up? I can’t tell if I hate it or love it. I think my brain can’t get over thinking it looks dry or something lol. Cool though if nothing else,
It has regular bark. Leaves look dried up sort, but I grew to like it. There's at least another cultivar that looks more extreme compared to this one, and at first even Shishigashira was too much for me.

This is my favorite photograph I've taken to date. This is the interior of Kasuga-Taisha shrine where they have hundreds of bronze lanterns lit inside. There is a small area you are allowed to walk through as apart of entrance fee. It's a short U shaped path way you can walk through in a line of other people. It was pretty much completely dark since I was coming outside with no time to adjust my eyes. (obviously no flash) I had maybe only 1 minute to capture the photo while walking and had to rely on holding the camera steady and luck since I could not see what I was shooting clearly. Maybe it isn't too great but it has atmosphere and depth, and knowing how hard it was to shoot makes it all the more satisfying to me. Full file on thumbnail

"To be or not to be"
yorick.jpg
Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy; he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now? Your gambols? Your songs? Your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar? (Hamlet, V.i)

I would like to share a photo series of My daughter next to an hippeastrum that usually blooms in June, year after year.

Time flies!

Cheers
