I'm liking bougainvillea. More fun to work with than flowering quince, with the exception that it needs winter protection. I did some wiring today, but no photo as it got dark outside. Basically wired and gave movement to areas circled. Definitely want more little bougies in my future.

About winter protection, it's not freezing but a bit chilly at night lately. I brought my tree into a heated greenhouse.

They're my favorites. Mostly because of the flowers, then there's the flowers, lol. (yes, I know they are really bracts).

One part of a branch wss broken from my skill level days ago. It is not a critical part, but interesting to see it is still alive after a little struggling.

Back outside with some moist moss. Moss seems to help keep new soil from washing away too.

The moss to help keep roots cooler and moist as its 108*f today, but over 100*f all week long.

It looks like a true twin trunk this way. I love how it looks, here. Ground layer to make it a proper twin trunk next year, what do yall think? Pretty easy with bougainvillea? Will it just sprout roots if I keep moist moss there?IMG_20180719_094850_771.jpg

Yah, I think I'll be trying to get roots to sprout up higher. Like in the Instagram account below. Wonder if I can do that wintertime in a heated green house. I'd like to save some time if possible. It being bougainvillea is only reason why I'd consider it.

Depending on how fast it grows, I might even get to try this season. Just a thought.

Since you've got a greenhouse, I would go for it, now. As long as it has leaves, it can grow new roots. It is a 'tropical' - right?
Repotting now is okay (which means now is a good time to grow roots) - I would just put it into a deeper pot, if I had one, instead of building that mesh wall structure.
