amazing!!

Couple Questions!

Why do you say always make an extra leg?
Did you use a scroll saw to make all this or did you use a router?
do you brush on lacquer or spray?
Im asking because im looking to get into woodworking and Im obviously gonna wanna try to make stands and such

This is with two light coats of satin lacquer lightly sanded and buffed down to 2000 grit. I’m fairly happy with the result. The color is still a nice chocolate brown and there is a nice subtle sheen.

Very nice! You got the curves just right.

The extra leg comment was somewhat tongue in cheek, but not completely. These are made on a scroll saw by hand and especially when the piece is this small there is going to be some variation from the cutting and then subsequent sanding. Making an extra gives you the ability to choose the four best. Tip - buy the high end stainless machined scroll saw blades as the difference in performance is amazing.

I’ve been experimenting with spray lacquer. I expect to keep experimenting forever as finishes are the most challenging part. Most of my stands have been with tung oil, which I am getting better at controlling. Both finishes can be nice.

Have fun!

Well done on that lighter tone inset wood. I really like the overall satin finish...best finish for that wood....makes the eye appreciate the entire table as a whole work of wooden art.

Thank you very much both of you.

Judy - I don’t actively market these as yet. They are mostly made just for the joy of creating and learning at this point. However if there is something I could make for you please feel free to contact me through PM.
