PPS: Actually, it's nort really a joke. Here's a friend's medium-sized rosmary, about 15-18 cm (6-7 inches). That could make a great "Mediterranean" display.
With chorizo or coppa, or a piece of parmiggiano hanging behind as a 3rd element, like the Japanese use a scroll or a mask. (that is supposed to be a joke)

Actually....... I have thought about it.....mmmmmmmm!!!! Pork roast. My mother has a 25 year old French Lavendre with a 3 inch trunk. They are a bit difficult to style. I had a Worm wood ( artemisia ) for 18 years to make some adult beverages.Excellent! And it's so rare as a bonsai, well done!

As for Artemisia, I suppose you mean Artemisia absinthium (absinthe), whose liquor was banned until recently in France because of the damages it did.

I have a bay tree in a growing pot. It tends to lose limbs at random. They just seem to die off for no particular reason, a few each year. Others grow back, of course.

Thank you. I don’t think the wound will ever heal totally. The heart-wood seems to be very prone to rot as well. This is why I treat the wood with clear marine epoxy. The epoxy also fixes the under-painted coloring of the deadwood.
