Nuts --

I repotted this bad ass little Shimpaku over the winter. It has been fairly warm here in the South East for a while already. Tree is putting out a moderate amount of new growth and appears healthy. Is it too soon to clean up and completely wire this tree? I'm chomping at the bit, but really do not want to kill this one.... THANKS!

I'd wait till late summer.

You'll have more roots to hold it more secure.

Would be no great loss but patience warranted to insure survival. Bonsai is no sprint but very long distance marathon;).

Late winter and late fall (with some protection during winter) are the best times to style junipers, especially if you're doing heavy bending. Avoid styling during extreme heat or cold.

I love the smugness! I REALLY like this tree and see great potential for something special.
Pay no attention to Pottie. If you spend more then a few weeks here, you'll understand why I say this.... AND.... you have already done more then Pottie has ever done here by posting a picture of one of your trees... well done!!
