My teacher just gave me some branches of the golden shimpaku for cutting. He says one of his students brought a little tree from Japan many years ago and later on gave him a branch for cutting. He says it has yellow color in the spring and will change to dark green later in the year. I will try to do some cutting from it today.

Cool variation. I have friend that worries to death until his turns green :p He does have a very nice one and I have explained a few years now but oh well :p Those will grow fast so you know and once established require regular trimming here. I like the added color on a green bench :)

I've heard them called blonde shimpaku.
