Well the Fustic was entered,

Objective -

A] 3 to 4 inch trunk

B] Heal wound

Result -

! ] Plant was placed in the growing trough as space became available - April -
May this 2018
There was a small back branch.

2] Growth became rampant - pruned back every 2 weeks.

3] Back branch refused to grow.
A defoliation was attempted and even then the back branch with leaves
refused to grow.

So plant was removed from the growing trough and replaced in an oversied
plastic bonsai pot.

Soil was changed to 3.5 parts - 5 mm gravel, 3.5 parts - 5 mm crushed red brick
and 3 parts aged compost.

Also added on was Sifu's idea of just placing the lightly root pruned base directly
on the bottom of the pot.
More later; Will show plant back in plastic bonsai pot.
Good Day
Anthony

What were we doing for 2015 to 2018

Growing cuttings of the above tree to master the technique of
trunk thickening and wound healing for this cultivar of
the Fustic.
Good Day
Anthony

1] It takes 8 feet of height to get 3 inches of trunk [ first test ]

2] Wound on 2 inch base , how long to heal ?

3] When wound heals cut down to start 4 to 6 branches.

4] We have about 10 cuttings from the mother seen above.
There is also another rooted cutting next to this one to start other tests.
All in colanders.
