I believe the tape was added to encourage a callous with very little bulge.

I'm sorta new to Bnut so I've done a lot of reading the past several weeks. Please excuse me if wrong.

Thanks!

btw, it is not necessary to do a lot of reading before committing a forgivable mistake (I hope )

Wassup with the wad of tape?

I must have overlooked something somewhere in this thread. :(
It's like the @queenofsheba52 said. I also hope that the tape can keep enough pressure to direct swelling a certain way that would make covering that wound faster. We'll see if anything great happened the next few years.

A better look at the threaded branch. I peeled away the sealant. I'm certain it'll be fused next year. Branch has some thickening to do anyways. I'll start weaning in 2019.

Other good things happening. Callouses are moving including this one.

Although I reduced this once thick branch, I may completely remove it in the future. I don't like its position relative to the other branch on the opposite side.

I doubt that large wound will ever fully heal, maybe carve it out and incorporate it into the future design

You could be right、but I want very much for it to heal. ? I would like to hide any evidence of the chop no matter how much time it takes.

My Hackberry buds are active ?. I thread grafted, and brought the circled branch down some more. Skipped root work this year.

I separated a thread graft the other day. Glad to see it still alive and well (yellow mark). Red circle is where I made the separation cut. Red scribble is a branch I removed; looks better without it! 8 hope to have one of the best looking Hackberry bonsai in USA. A bit ambitious of a goal??
