A bunch of little ones is so much more fun that one big hog, huh @JudyB ??
Oh, I DO miss piglet, but I know I will see that tree again, destined for greatness that one....
Wow, great show Judy!
Thanks for taking the time to post all those wonderful trees....

I really like the last Hornbeam you posted, showing some nice bark texture.
Thanks,
that HB was a lucky find, I love the fallen second trunk.

The one with the leaning second trunk and the nice bark....
All my HB have good bark, this one was a special find. It was very neglected, so I feel lucky to have brought it back around. I may change it up although I like it better like this than as before as an upright tree.

Just looking through your photos again. Not only are the trees awesome, but the pots and the combos with the trees. I like colorful pots, and you have some great ones, jealous for sure. Absolute validation of why you are Queen of the Nuts. Now lets see that velvet mini dress ;).

Yeah I'm about where I want to be now, I've been planning this for a while, glad to be almost settled again. Just sold my red hawthorn, I'll miss it but it was the last large one on the list to free myself of. I think I'll keep the few large ones I have left.
Are you just focusing on Shohin now? Piglet is with Serge and you've moved on the Paul's Scarlet. Sorry if you have said this before and I've missed it. Nice collection of trees - I've just created a Shohin area on my benches to develop smaller trees, inspired by seeing these :) keep up the great work!

Planning on moving eventually to some land we have in Colorado, so was downsizing to smaller trees for the bulk of the collection. I'm planning on doing a setup that they can stay in all year round there, and the footprint for the building needs to be a size we can manageably build out. I do still have some large trees, the azalea is very large. I'm keeping the rest of the bigger ones I have, but I do have a particular fondness for Kifu size trees, so have a fair amount of those that I have had for a while. Keeping those, but I've been busy adding shohin to my world the last few years. I was in turn inspired by Peter Macasieb, he is @Maria kappa here, and is the best shohin guy in the states from what I can tell. Check out his shohin threads, you will be astounded.
Thank you my Brother, I will wait to see if you ever tire of your page ones!
and @bonhe that is supposed to read LARGE ones...lol.

Hey Carol, I'll see if I can dig it up haha. Thanks for enjoying the trees, I do indeed put a premium on pot combinations, that has been a fun area of study for me along the years.
Sheesh those are some fantastic pictures and even better trees!
Thanks a bunch Johnathan!

Ugly trees, but very nice photos.

I'm joking : I simply love your trees !
If trees can reflect the personality of the person that takes care of them, you must be a charming lady :D

Here is the hackberry, it needed a haircut this morning, it apparently likes it's new pot. This is one of the trees that I repotted in the fall last year. I think with the right protection it is a good practice for some trees. And a shohin JWP that I acquired this past winter, got into a pot this spring. Lost a branch, but the rest of the buds are ready to go. I've been looking for one of these for a long long time. It will eventually not need the mounding of the soil, I will lower it a bit, but most of the soil is mounded to keep the roots happy while it gets used to being in this small pot.

Great trees judy! How do you like working with the cork bark elm? I love them.
Very fun that tree. It develops so fast, it's already so much better than a year ago! Thanks Wilson.

Outstanding collection, makes me want to turn a bunch of these zelkovas I have into shohin.

Maybe just because I want an excuse to buy amazing pots like those

Yes you seem to be able to get away with a lot more on pots with smaller trees. Thanks Mrwunderful... (interesting name btw...)

Nah... I don't believe you : think of the epithets some who follow the "tea house" forum have in store for me o_O ...:p

Your trees have a personal touch, a delicacy that some of the mostly-men bonsai-enthusiasts should learn from, honestly.

Thinking of getting a green card : are you in a relationship ?

Oh, another bout of AlainK's bad sense of humour

Love your trees

LOL @AlainK :) Of course you know that my husband is the enabler and stand/greenhouse builder, so I'll be staying...;)

Here is the zelkova in a new pot, sooooo much better. Its Yamakki, and the grey details/flecks are really neat. The nebari on this tree will be really good in a few years.
