Collected RMJ by Sam miller. Should be a fun tree in a few growing seasons.

Cool. I see a grow box and a pot in your photos - has it been repotted once already, within a year or so of collection?

After a year of collection by the collector. He explained his thoughts behind his decision. While not the conventional path with grow box, the tree is healthy. I plan to let a few or more grow seasons to pass and strong signs of growth before I make any changes.

I would say that you had quite a challenging design decision to make.. now i see the update and think you've made a good one! Maybe work the foliage mass a bit closer to the deadwood to integrate the design and you're set! Oh.. and a bit of refining the deadwood work also!

(Im a newbie so my opinion is worth nothing lol)

Congratulations!

The current angle is appropriate for my personal taste.

As for the deadwood, I don't feel the need yet to reduce more at this moment.

@Shogun610 what are your suggestions?
I don’t usually like to reduce deadwood so much but there is a section that is near the pot id grind and strip down , same with the deadwood piece that crescents upwards in front of that nice crown in the back. There also appears to be deadwood in between the foliage that will obviously take longer to bring out. I think overtime will be a design that can be framed more in the deadwood but tis a challenging piece of material and I think you’re off to a good start, I’d personally just like to see the foliage framed in the deadwood more .. the current design takes my eye to the deadwood then to the foliage .. just my opinion I’d love to see you bring the foliage into the deadwood vs having it compete against eachother

Thanks for the input.

I plan to clean up more deadwood, and continue to grow out the structure.

Hopefully as the years past, I'll be able to integrate the deadwood and foliage play.
