All still very premature but figured I’d jump on board and show some of my projects. First is a Buckley oak (Quercus buckleyi) collected this spring. I think I’m going to keep it as a taller more delicate tree but I do want to get meter movement /branching closer to trunk on the larger lower branches so I may chop them back at some point.
Next is a cheddar elm collected in January. Lots of vigorous growth so just letting it gather strength before likely chopping the main center trunk back a bit.
Another cedar elm with a bit more elegance and trunk movement. Not sure if I should go informal broom or let a leader grow out and pull down the branches that I will keep.
And finally a super awesome Buckley oak that was also collected this spring. It sulked a bit through our really hot summer but put on an autumn flush so I think it is going to have a good year next year.
