while none of my trees are nearly there yet, this has been on my mind for last few days.
we work on a tree to get back budding, work on the branch ramification going out from think to thinner to thinnest... and then what? how do you keep the branched from elongating and ruining the design without pinching/cutting new growth yearly which I believe would kill a tree few years later. how about older growth leaves or needles back on the branch as they end up getting old and falling down how do these get replaced without having to let the branches grow to encourage new growth back or maybe pinching new growth to get that back budding.
not saying that a tree gets finished as I realize tree continues to grow, thicken and maybe less changes will be made at this stage, so basically just asking how t maintain shape when the tree is nearly done.
