I like leaves that look like butterflies ,it brings a little poetry to this tree which is certainly the most robust of all my trees :)

Thank you for the message :)

In fact , I do almost nothing with this tree , except some wire on the branches for they return to the flame form .

I don't leave it too long because it grows hard and the wire is encrusted fairly quickly in the bark .

It's Kev

Welcome to crazy
Hahaha, beat you to it @sorce

I’m itching for a ginkgo every now and then, so you’re a step ahead of me there.

p.s. I seriously didn’t know that a ginkgo was a coniferous tree, was gonna correct you but then did some fact checking and learned something instead

well done

Hi everyone !

I repotted and shortened slightly my Ginkgo to bring out its trunk a little more .
I don't really know which side is better
Your opinions are welcome.
Thank you.

Love this tree (don't usually like gingkos). Great job. I like the first view myself.

Thank you for the message !
At the begining , I did not like Ginkgo too much , I found their leaves too large and poorly proportioned .
But now , I really like this species , they exude a kind of strength and serenity , it feels like nothing can happen to them .

Man... Beautiful Ginkgo!!! My neighbor have a giant one on their yard... maybe I can air layer to get a nice thick trunk one.

Good idea !
Air layering is possible , maybe the fastest way to get a large trunk .
Mine comes from an air layering .

Love this Ginkgo!

2 for me. Although 1 has better trunk character, 2 has a much better transition from nebari to trunk.

Are you planning to keep all those branches for a flame style?

Been living in China for 5 years, but my 1st time seeing a ginkgo was a month ago in Italy

maybe I should get one
In parts of China, ginkgo are grown as a nut crop. You should occasionally see ginkgo nuts for sale in the autumn food markets. Boiled they're mild and very pleasant, a little bit like chestnuts. If you can find raw nuts, you could just plant them.

Very interesting analisis 👍

Face 1 is simpler and more " classic "

Face 2 maybe more original and better transition from nebari to trunk as you say .
The tree leans a little back as seen by BackyardBonsai ( message # 12 ) , it could be corrected by tilting it a little forward .

Something like that

I'll see that later , i already removed the branches sticking out of the flame form and i keep the ones that i left , now i start fertilizers , using small tea bag that i filled with organic fertilizer bought on Amazon around 13 dollars ( 12 euros ) for 8,8 lb ( 4 kilos ) .
NPK : 6-3-3

I discoverd this method on another thread two days ago !

Thank you very much again ! :)
