Bottle of cuttings of both weeping willow and weeping bottlebrush. The water bottle is full of dozens of small willow snippets, hoping to create willow water to boost bottlebrush root success.

Last pic is of the bottlebrush mother plant. The foliage was noticeably more dense than any of the (many) bottlebrushes in my area.

What is this style of pot called? I'm looking for a pot exactly like this for a tree of mine. Even the size looks perfect.
This is a cascade pot from Japan. I bought it 20-some years ago, so I'm not sure about it's exact origins. It's been sitting on the pot shelf for at least 15 years, so I decided to break it out finally.

You mean the square pot right? The other one is a semi-cascade "lotus" style pot from Yixing.

^Yes the square one
Well, the good news is, I'm in Japan.

The bad news is, I haven't found one like that yet...

Keep looking I guess.

Update, this layer got knocked off the tree during the winter so I placed it in a pot and it seems to be doing well. Likely go in the ground this fall20200414_151534.jpg20200414_151534.jpg

Here are my forests JM. I can't believe we already hit the 3rd year mark. They progress nicely. A few weak ones didn't make it but I have plenty that a few dead won't cause any issue. The plan is to let them grow wild for a few more years to trunk up.IMG_20210408_174029417.jpgIMG_20210408_174024036.jpgIMG_20210408_174011988.jpgIMG_20210408_174004520.jpg

Year 3 update. Continued from post 10 and 59. Forgot to update last year.

The 10 year plan is to develop these into shohin size trees. Might put them in the ground for a year or two now that they are 'set up for success.'

Let them grow last year. Chopped them this spring to get some movement down low. Will chop the largest (last pic) again now that there are leaders to choose from (no buds when I chopped).
