Hello everyone.

My crape Myrtle leaves are folding downwards and they have these blisters. I checked for insects but couldn't find any. It did have aphids a couple of weeks ago and I since then treated it was a systemic insecticide.
There's new growth but the leaves on it look horrible as you can see. Tree is kept in an open greenhouse where it gets about 6 hours of sun.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.20200707_190227.jpg20200707_190122.jpg20200707_190122.jpg20200707_190122.jpg20200707_190122.jpg20200707_190219.jpg20200707_190254.jpg20200707_190205.jpg

I do pest and disease monitoring in crops for a living, and this doesn’t look like any of the fungal bacterial or insect (including mites) symptoms that I am familiar with.

If you treated the aphids with a common ready to use bottle from a garden center this question is mute, but what did you treat the aphids with?

If I was walking on to a nursery cold, and I saw these symptoms, I would get my microscope out to look for microscopic mites, and then ask about what herbicides were used.

I hope it’s not a virus or phytoplasma, those can be transmitted by aphids.

Hello.

I used a systemic granule insecticide. Someone told me that this was caused by overwatering. If you notice these blisters have water in them.

It only happens rarely here in Oregon, and I have never seen it get this bad.

I know this is not Crepe Myrtle, but it is a really good description of the process.
