Always hate to see part of old old tree die in struggle to survive however is not my tree so thank you for consideration of decent answer. Most excellent drawing skill as always🤩.

Of course and thank you! I am personally not concerned with the health as I see strong growth from this tree. In fact I would not be too surprised if it buds back yet again in that same area after he cuts that left branch off. But ultimately @Lars Grimm will need to make that call.

I'm going to keep you all in suspense as I am letting it gain more strength in the current Anderson Flat!

Quick September update. I removed some punky deadwood and some shelf fungus that had popped up in places. This left a really good appearance to one of the deadwood branches on top. I love the beautiful wood grain. I applied some lime sulfur and removed some dead bark as well. I will need to address the fact that the center is entirely hollow. I might make a cut in the bottom to ensure that water can completely drain out. I have some wood hardener that I need to apply as well.

How is the tree doing? I’m planning on doing some work on a tree I obtained from Alvaro last year. Going to repot this year.
