Back from a restful break in my favourite place to relax, in the mossy forests of Kielder Water.

On my return the apples have really reddened so I thought I'd share. This is a "rebuilt" tree that I chopped and regrew everything on, half way up the trunk where it starts to twist. No idea of the variety as it was a cheap tree and the seller wanted rid of it quick. 18" high, 17" wide and 5" nebari.

Here’s a Chinese ‘Old Gold’Juniper I bought on clearance from Home Depot last fall for $3.98

I put it in this pot just for fun, will likely put it in a terra cotta trainer this spring to continue development. Maybe it will stay put, who knows :)

Stock plant I've used for layers gets a styling & bonsai promotion. A simple triple trunk design. Not the best tree but OK for material that hadn't been purposefully developed in this direction. It'll need some shari work to disguise the cut on the main trunk (resulting from separation of a layer) and it'll eventually be moved on.

I'll just leave it to throw strong runners and this in itself will increase the density of the pads. It's a Blauuws by the way, a very tolerant and quick growing chinensis variant. The wedge separating the trunks is a plastic chopstick (very high tech 👌).

Been waiting a while to work on this one. Repotted last winter, I think it’s showing good enough health to start its first styling.
