Inspirational!! Thanks for sharing Walter
Holy smokes!
Please forgive my ignorance, but for a tree as powerful as this one is, shouldn't it technically be in a squared or rectangular pot?
I really like the color though.
Casey.
Touchè And thank you for not capitulating to the purists on pot choice. We little guys get beat up by the anal-retentive OCB (Obsessive Repulsive Disorder) types. They will argue with us until the cows come home, but you have the gravitas needed to make bonsai an art in the west as opposed to a discipline in Japan. So bonsai grows in popularity outside of Japan, but the youth disdain it, and carry that into later years so that Japan is the only place in the world where bonsai is not growing. And some people wonder why?Watever you mean by 'technically', I do it artistically. And this pot is perfect for me.
Easy peasy for for Mr. Big. That's Mr. Big Bucks. When you consistently deal with that kind of stock you develop a network of suppliers who know what Mr. Big will pay for and see to it that he has all he needs. Money talks, and Walter speaks the language. That, and the patience to Shepard good stock along in his own growing beds for as long as it takes to bring it up to his standards. Nothing to it.Walter, IMO, your 4th & 5th pictures have the Green Helmet look....Your very last picture (from Thursday) has the Naturalistic look...but all are beautiful, a Magnificent Japanese Maple...
I am always amazed at how you are able to get that large of a Trunk's Root mass down to flatten out and fit in what appears to be a 2 1/2" pot height...??? The tree has an Outstanding Trunk...
