How does one "employ" a master stylist to help take your trees to the "next level".

Online schools like Mirai and Bjorn are great, but there is nothing like having a teacher at your side. I never had a teacher and I lost a lot of years bumbling around taking conflicting advice from a lot of different people on this and other forums. Plus the online schools don't answer all the myriad questions and problems that come up when the plant is in your hands. If you can afford one, or have someone near you that you can volunteer for to sweep his floors, don't lose that opportunity.

I’ve studied with one of the professionals mentioned in this thread at a 6-hour workshop with 5 student. He was very nice, very helpful and a good experience.

But I have learned EXPONENTIALLY more from Mirai Live, and honestly, from this forum. Gotta agree with @BobbyLane on this one.

Next time I’ll just spend the money on material.

it can be 'learnt' though.

theres a reason why we still see folks after 15 to 30 years in the game not being able to construct an image from a virtual, a drawing or a tree they saw in the landscape. they just go through the motions a clip here and a clip there. but the tree still looks like how it was purchase many years ago. having a teacher wont make them more creative.

Who is Ryan? Ryan Neil? A bonsai professional teacher.
