BALONEY. I'VE HAD AZALEAS OFF AND ON FOR YEARS AND THEY BLOOM ALMOST ANYTIME INDOORS. AND I CHECKED. OTHER PEOPLE GUARANTEE THAT THEIRS WILL BE BLOOMING WHEN THEY ARRIVE. https://www.proflowers.com/azaleas-aza
I dont see that promise...I also would not order a bonsai from a flower shop.

There are Encore Azaleas, which I guess is what's being mentioned there....and there is one type that is known as a flower shop variety, but its not outdoor hardy.

You bought a satsuki....from a bonsai store.
You got exactly what you paid for.

You must be referring to Sachenstern....thats the "flower shop azalea".
Its not outdoor hardy and its also not an Encore to my knowledge.

Maybe try finding and ordering one of those.

Real azaleas don't survive indoors for years.

Edit.....unless you do actually live in Mars, Terry....I dunno about the climate there.....on Mars.

REALLY? WOULD THAT WEED CHEER YOU UP? I THINK THEY ARE DISGUSTING. I'VE COMPLAINED TO THE BBB FOR FALSE ADVERTISING.
I'd say you got what you ordered. You just ordered at the wrong time. The site advertises SATSUKI azaleas and tells you when the plant will be in bloom. The site says "Our Satsuki Azaleas bloom twice a year with proper care." It also says "This flowering bonsai produces blooms during the spring and possibly during the fall with the proper care."

That would imply it can be out of bloom when you get it, since this is summer.

Hey.... if you bought it from Western Leaf it wouldn't ever flower cuz it would be toxicly masculine and fully privileged!

Welcome to Crazy!

IS ALL THIS TO HELP US UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE HUGE CREDIT CARD BILLS BECAUSE THE LARGE PRINT SAID YOU ONLY HAVE TO PAY $20 A MONTH?

It must suck to be going through family health woes, we're not stranger to them. However, this path isn't the one to peace.

Just tell her she better get healthy if she wants to see that damn thing flower!

Blessings.

You yelling at everyone here (all caps) does not further your cause. I offered you a fair appraisal of what the situation was as did many others here.
You screwed up. The rest of us here have tried to be gentle with you because we understand it is a genuine concern to you.
Most of us here have bought flowering plants. I bought over 30 azaleas this year and I certainly didn't expect the azaleas to hold their blooms until I got them.
I AM SO VERY SORRY THAT YOU SCREWED UP. MAYBE YOU SHOULD DO A LITTLE RESEARCH NEXT TIME INSTEAD OF HOLLERING AT ALL THE PEOPLE HERE AS THOUGH IT WAS THEIR FAULT AND NOT YOURS.
YOU SURE DID SAY A LOT OF STUPID THINGS ABOUT YOUR EXPERTISE WITH AZALEAS. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TALKING TO? GO AHEAD, BURN THIS BRIDGE.

IF MY SISTER HAD GOTTEN ANYTHING SIMILAR TO THIS, SO WOULD I. PICTURE OF WEED ENCLOSED.
I ordered it in early spring, so I had a good chance at seeing it bloom.

If you're still around, this is a pretty good explainer for satsuki and bonsai. "Satsuki" literally means "fifth month" in Japanese-named for when this species of azalea blooms--which is May and into June.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT GULLIBLE PLANET YOU COME FROM. WHEN A COMPANY POSTS A PICTURE OF A BEAUTIFUL BLOOMING PLANT THAT IS WHAT I EXPECT TO GET, OR IN THIS CASE MY AILING SISTER. AZALEAS CAN BLOOM ANY TIME OF THE YEAR WHEN THEY ARE INDOORS. I'VE HAD THEM FOR MANY YEARS. IF THEY KNOW WHAT THEY RE DOING THEY CAN CERTAINLY MAKE THEM BLOOM IN A GREENHOUSE. AS FOR IT'S BEING A BONSAI, PHOOEY. IT'S WEED.

The only one that is gullible here is you.
It's YOUR fault you didn't read the description and just ASS-UMED it was everblooming.

I've owned multiple azaleas for 25 years both as bonsai and as landscape plants. The ones in my landscape are 30+ years old.
NONE OF THEM HAVE EVER BEEN IN BLOOM PAST JUNE AND I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT ANY WOULD BE.

I'm sorry your sister is sick and I hope she feels better soon.

Um, have a spin through here for $1,000 satsuki (it's pronounced SAT-ski, BTW) weeds--some aren't yet in bloom, of past it for the year. The weeds still command high prices because the buyers know blossoms are temporary and only happen once (possibly twice) a year--IN LATE MAY/EARLY JUNE. Some satsuki weed varieties bloom into the summer, but not many. The weeds pictured in this catalogue are available to buy if you want one, but will take some time to get here and they probalby won't be in bloom. The plant you pictured was how these started out. Took maybe 20 years or little more for these to be developed. Just sayin that you're yelling about something you obviously have no idea about

You still don't understand? Just because it isn't blooming yet DOESN'T mean it's a weed! IT IS STILL A BONSAI! I would give it to my sister if I had one, I would just make the design better. You should look forward to caring for it. AND THEY DO NOT BLOOM ANYTIME. Google states that "Azaleas form flower buds during early summer IF they receive adequate moisture. If they then have a period of four to eight weeks of temperatures below 50° F in the winter, they will break into bloom all at once the following spring, and stay in bloom about two weeks." I hope you can take care of it properly.

Happy Blooming!

I don't think Terry from Mars is, every will be, or has any intention of being a bonsai person.
Just someone that is angry and probably hurting who thought they would get some sympathy here.
I don't think she is a bonsai person either, but yelling at people and accusing them of being stupid is hardly going to get anything from anyone. I've got similar health issues in my family as well, I'm not venting because the florist sent disappointing flowers...OK, I'll vent a little. Paid a funeral home $300 for what was essentially a bouquet of gas station carnations...Shit happens...

I see a lot of negative Eastern Leaf sentiment on this board, so that fact that everyone is defending them here says a lot about the OP. Yeesh.

There are all kinds of sellers of every caliper.
And there are those who will not own up to their actions.
