Hi everyone.
I got this tigerbark since 2017. First Picture is from the first days i got this ficus.
When i look here, i notice it hasnt grown much. It had small pots and worse soil medium i guess. Now, it has a bigger pot and better soil i believe.
I made a drill graft a few weeks ago. Now, i ll wire it a little but i want to see if there are some thoughts about this tree.

Thanks.

I think you made the right choice, a branch at that point will improve the look, I also like that you shortened it from the initial height.

I'm surprised that branch has not fuse yet.

I checked my tree today. Graft seems ok. But there seems some reverse-taper🤔

Strat the separation on the yellow line, I usually shave 1/2 the branch thickness and in around 2 weeks if I notice that the graft takes off I cut it entirely. Then remove the piece you just cut from the pot and approach graft it where the red line is. There will be reverse taper in that area because you are feeding the tree from it's root base AND from the tree you grafted. This is why you normally use a branch from the tree instead of a cutting. Once the cutting take in the trunk area you can remove it or use it in your design.

Do you mean making a fusion with cutting left after seperating graft?

yes. Like I did on my ficus, but in your case, on the inside of the bend.

Today i repotted my ficus and add 5cuttings to fusion. Now, she seems a little messy. Here is spring is coming, so i hope she will do it great 🤞

Update of my ficus. I am letting my first branch (drill grafted) get thick so i dont touch it. I still have some siblings in main trunk. Maybe i attach them into first branch to fix that reverse tape.
