Let me start by telling you that I am also a newbie. I do have several juniper and I leave them all out in full sun because I need the shaded part of my small garden for others. They are doing all well in full sun. That said, given a chance, I will give all my plants partial shade/protection (from TX summer heat) in the afternoon if possible.
