OK, October 20 I have a BYOT with Bjorn Bjorholm. Of the few trees I have, the junipers, I re-potted some of them in February and they have been semi styled . They are doing well with lots of runners. Could I take one of these?
I also have a procumbens and parsonii from local nurseries and 2...
The wire applied in May was already cutting in so I removed it. I didn't realize that it was growing so quick. Hopefully It will grow out.
Also root pruned and potted up a smaller mugo. It said Pumilla but the needles are a lot smaller than the other two "Pumillas" I have so probably miss labeled
Looks like creating that Shari and Jin all in one shot worked out well. Doesn't look like it affected anything above it. I've been letting the stubs, left from branch pruning, dry for now. I'll jin or cut flush in a year or two.
Absolutely, Just need soil. I have a small one in qt./gallon container going right into a deep bonsai pot. It was labeled Pumilla but the needles are shorter than my other two which I believe are pumilla
Congratulation to all winners. Thank you to Robert Pressler and the CBS for the opportunity to work with such an esteem artist as Bjorn Bjornholm. I know that my material and skill will improve vastly with this session. Oct. 20th all day class BYOT. Can't wait, but plenty of time to choose...
I love the blooms. Did you do any heavy pruning? I have a Chinzan cutting I rooted and next year I'm going to pot up in a removable cinder to try and develope the neagari roots.
Thanks @Dav4 It's setting in good sun and gave a post bloom organic fertilizer. I have Stone Lanterns Azalea book and am trying to follow the schedule/routines in that. Really love the book.
I'll wire today. You said "cut back hard". I cut back hard as well, hopefully not too hard, compared...
So after letting my Wakaebisu fully bloom i removed all flowers and trimmed. I'd like to see how others are treating theirs and how they look afterwards. I chose to replace the apex and will let it grow out for a time. Also removed one of the lower branches, left side, as there were 3. Still a...
So I worked my 2nd Mugo today, got up at 4:30 and started at daybreak. Removed a little more that the 1st one and went with a semi cascade. One question is which stubs get removed and which get jinned. Really enjoyed working on these...love this hobby!!!

Thanks it means alot. I have 3 pines all mugos and have read and reread the posts and resource to do my best to get them to thrive. Felt good to start them on there way.
Ok, so this morning I trimmed some smaller branches, removed some needles and wired. Good or bad the deed has been done and I'll see how it reacts. Critiques? Advise?Eulogy?
