Did some tree shopping Could use some info...

You need winter storage, a insulated shed that the trees can be placed on the ground and mulched over with about six inches of mulch. Have you researched and or bought new 'soil' yet? You need to get them out of the dirt.

Let’s Have Some Fun! First Annual Box Store Challenge – Who’s In?

My two cents. I'd say stick to junipers as original idea, ease up on price limits a bit, I know I can't buy tree for 15.00 (Canadian eh). Or a solid alternative wood be a Mugo Pine, the master will be back! The price issue will never be settled on these contests so call it under fifty dollars...

    Ryan Neil's updated Website

Great improvement to the site. I love his work and the amazing Yamadori, it makes me love collecting more. Maybe one day I'll have a tree as nice… but I won't be spending 50g's on one.

    Photos of gutted out gazebo...ideas?

It's a nice looking gazebo. The best storage would be on the ground below it, all mulched in and enclosed… not what you want to hear. My back hurt thinking of those stairs and carrying bonsai in grow out boxes.

    Photos of gutted out gazebo...ideas?

I don't know how much sun hits those windows but you'll have to be very careful about the suns radiation heating the room in the winter. If windows are covered on the outside it could work, blinds inside will not work for winter storage. The temp swings would be much on warm sunny days. I had a...

Green Dream vs Dr Earth -----Let's get ready to ruuuummble!!!!!

I use Green Dream and have a large dog, he sniffed at first but really shows no interest now. It's been a few years and he hardly notices the trees. Squirrels how ever seem to be attracted to it and tend to nibble at a tree here and there. Hope that helps.

Fantastic aged bark, pretty cool to see the Douglas Firs being collected. Naturally growing one of my favourite old growth trees. Lots of gnarly crazy twisted formations filled with dead wood.

Tool advice for a beginner in niwaki

I dabble in Niwaki and unless your talking really small trees I don't think you need a concave cutter? If you thought you need the concave cut for healing purposes and healing wounds quicker you could grind or carve the concave shape. Most small foldable hand saws at least the good ones will...
