I’m moving and looking to sell a collection of large tropicals. Please message me if interested for photos. I’m located in Bradenton, Fl. Must pick up. No shipping.
Always nice to see this big guy waking up. This one is in a 24” training pot and has three sets of knees that are growing nicely. It’s been three seasons since it was chopped down from a 12’ nursery tree root bound in a 50 gallon pot. So far so good towards the final design.
I Posted this tree when I trunk chopped it last year and just moved it out of the plastic concrete mixing tub into the 22” training pot.
I buried it pretty low its first year to help protect the roots from drying out in the Florida sun, and this year found that there were three new sets of...
Can anyone help me identify the small white worms looking creatures that are in the soil of my BRT and Bouginvilla? They are about an 1/8" long and constantly squirming around.
Hopefully you can see them in the pictures or video.
I received these two very different looking young Black Pines from two different sources about a month ago. I slip potted them when I got them directly into 10” pond baskets in a good draining Bonsai soil and it looks like they are both doing very well so far.
One of my questions is, should...
I picked up a really nice piece of deadwood yesterday out walking the dogs near the water and would like to do a Tonuki with it but could use some ideas as far as what kind of tree to use and how to incorporate it into this nice natural trunk. There is a knee on it also which makes me think it...
I picked up this tree from a nursery that had it in a 45 gallon pot for years. $50.00, I couldn’t pass it up. It was about 10’ -12’ tall and pretty root bound. I chopped the trunk to a height of 27” above the soil line and took a sawzall to the root mass about 6” below the soil line of the...
This tree is in South Florida and still in a Mica training pot. She’s about 16” tall from the soil line and coming along pretty good so far I think. I’ve had this one for about 10 years now and will probably be getting it into a nicer pot in a month or so.
I would like some styling help on this large Crepe Myrtle that I picked up the other day. I’m not sure if I should carve the dead wood area or cut it back even with the trunk? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
Here are some updated pics I took this morning of some tropicals I had had for a few years now. The sheffelera is actually 5’ across now. Large Brazilian Rain Tree, some assorted Ficus, riot over rock Ficus, Bougies, a couple Royal Pointciena in the clay pots.
Here are some updated photos of some trees that I posted in the early spring. Large Ficus, Bouginvillia, Brazilian Rain Tree, very large 4' Sheffelara , Dwarf Sheffelara , podacarpus. All thriving in the summer Florida rains.

I had this tree shipped to me in Florida last February bare root and planted in this big tub right after I got it. I waited all spring and then finally about a month ago I got two branches of growth way down at the bottom. Just wondering if it is dead above that area? I'm not going to touch it...
I just repotted this one and gave it a little trim. This was a nursery plant that was grown in the ground for two years. It's about 18" tall. Hopefully it will turn out nice in a few years.
Had to bring in this big guy in last night because of the low temps here in Florida. I've had this guy for about four years now. It grows like a weed here in season. It needs some trimming up but not for a few more weeks. What do you think of it?
Can anyone tell me what this growth is on a live Oak I have been growing from seed here in Florida. I don't know if it is just a growth or an insect? Any help is appreciated .

I am in central Florida and have a healthy JBP and think that I have maybe removed the fall needles a little too early (a couple weeks ago) because I'm getting another third flush of new buds. My question is this. I need to re pot this winter and am wondering if it will hurt the tree or kill...
Hi everyone. Here are a couple native Florida pines I found at a local nursery along with a few other tropical bonsai in my collection. I am treating them the same as Black Pine and candle pruned them last June. They had a nice second flush of 2" needles, which I thought wasn't too bad for...
Here are some pics I took this morning of some newly cut and wired trees. They are kind of bare right now but everything is just starting to bud nicely.
